What learners like about East Riding of Yorkshire Council (Ofsted Report April 2010):
- The supportive and patient tutors
- Becoming more personally confident
- Being able to learn at an individual pace with staff who are not strict, but make sure that the work gets done
- Achieving qualifications that improve their employment potential
We are a small, friendly training provider* with excellent success and achievement rates. We are part of the council's employment and skills team and have three centres across the East Riding of Yorkshire in Bridlington, Cottingham and Goole.
Because we are part of the council, we can help you to apply for administration and customer service apprenticeship posts within the council. With Apprentice wages at East Riding of Yorkshire Council starting at around £150 per week, this is an opportunity you cannot afford to miss!
If you are looking for an Apprenticeship elsewhere within the East Riding and the Humber, we will be able to assist you in applying for those vacancies as well. We have a team of people who work with local employers to look for apprenticeship vacancies.
If you are not quite ready for an Apprenticeship, why not consider one of our other training programmes to help.
Future4u - 12-week foundation learning programme. If eligible, we will help you to apply for the bursary payment or the weekly allowance payment while you are on Future4u and we may be able to refund your travel costs. Our Future4u programme is a great way to start to build your skills and will help you to decide the best way forward.
eXplore - this programme is designed to help those who may be looking to re-engage in training and as we only have small groups, it can be an ideal setting to get you back into training and education in a small group environment.
Works4u - a new study programme for young people aged 16 - 19 that will meet the requirements of local employers who are looking for staff, or looking to provide apprenticeship opportunities. The programme gives qualifications, employability skills, a supported work placement with East Riding of Yorkshire Council and a relevant external work placement in the private sector.
Please complete the online application and we will be in touch. Alternatively, if you have any questions to ask prior to completing, contact us on 01262 674968 for more information.
*This activity is part financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund (ESF). ESF supports activities to extend employment opportunities and develop a skilled workforce.
What Makes Us Different
Learning with us is very different to being at school or college.
On all of our programmes, we work with you to achieve your goals in a supportive environment. We can also organise work placements for you within the council (subject to availability) or a placement outside of the council. This may help you decide what sort of job you might like to work towards. Along the way you can gain some nationally recognised qualifications.
If you are interested in a business administration or customer service apprenticeships, we can help you to apply for jobs both inside and outside of the council as we are the preferred training provider for apprentice posts within East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
We can also offer you support and training in skills such as completing application forms, interview techniques and CV writing. Once you get a job, we will work with you and your employer to help you achieve the Apprenticeship Framework (NVQ, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills).
We will give you support from the first time you set foot in one of our training centres. For most people this will be when you attend your GUARANTEED interview, as we offer everyone the chance to come in and have a chat. During your interview we will give you information, advice and guidance about the most appropriate training solution for you. If you need extra help with English, we have specialist staff who can support you with this. For some programmes, such as Future4u, travel costs may be met and you may be able to receive a bursary payment or a weekly allowance.
