About us

HETA (Humberside Engineering Training Association) is a renowned training provider for engineering apprenticeships in the Humber and Yorkshire region. We have 3 centres in Hull, Grimsby and Scunthorpe. We provide engineering apprenticeships in Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering, Fabrication/ Welding and Intsrumentation.     What We Offer:

    In the first 8 months (Sept-Apr) students will complete a generic first year programme;

    Practical workshop training (4 days per week)

     

    Maintenance Programme

    ·Electrical Wiring & Testing

    ·Basic Electrical Maintenance

    ·Basic Fabrication & Welding

    ·Basic Mechanical Maintenance

    ·CAD

    ·Mechanical Bench fitting, machining and assembly

     

    Welding Programme

    ·MIG, TIG, MMA Welding

    ·Oxy Fuel Cutting

    ·Use of standard fabrication equipment/machinery

    ·Measuring & marking out

    ·Underpinning knowledge theory qualification (1 day per week)

    ·Pearson BTEC Level 3 National extended certificate in Engineering

    ·Before moving on to specific trade discipline training (Apr-July)

     

     Programme Facts

    • All students get a high level of practical skills in year 1

    •HETA trains for over 250 companies within the Humber Region

    •Students get the opportunity to take part in our Outward Bound Trip

    •Students employment within of training

    • Over 98% of students go on to full time employment after their apprenticeship

    • 49% of our apprentices start an HNC programme in year 2 of their apprenticeship

  • Learner Support

    HETA are committed to the support of their students, whilst they are at the training centre and once they have returned to continue their apprenticeship in company.

    HETA also provide a free confidential support/pastoral care service to the apprentices should they have problems or issues relating to their home, work or personal life.

How to find us

HULL Site – Copenhagen Road, Sutton Fields Hull HU7 0XJ

APPROACHING FROM M62 / M18 (Leeds, Sheffield, Doncaster, Manchester)

M62 onto A63 take slip road sign posted Humber Bridge.  Follow road to the second roundabout, take first exit onto A164 sign posted Beverley. 

* Go across five roundabouts.  (Passing Swanbridge Vets, Waitrose and Skidby Mill along the way)

Travel for approximately a further two miles take a right turn onto A1079 for Hull. 

Continue along A1079 until you see sign for A1033 sign posted Hull East and Sutton Fields Industrial Estate. Continue on this road until you pick up signs for Sutton Fields (West). Whilst travelling along here you will pass David Lloyds Gym, Frankie & Benny’s Restaurant and Cineworld. As you approach the roundabout get into the right hand lane with McDonalds on your right and the Travel Inn on your left, take the 3rd exit off the roundabout and continue along the bypass road. When you reach the next roundabout you will have the Ennerdale Leisure Centre on your right, take the 2nd exit (straight across) and at the next roundabout the 2nd exit again (straight across), you are now entering the Industrial Estate. Follow road through estate passing Royal Mail sorting office on the right, eventually the road will bend to the left and HETA approximately 200yds around the bend on the right.   

 

APPROACHING FROM A15 / HUMBER BRIDGE (Grimsby, Barton, Scunthorpe)
Follow sign for A164 Beverley.  Pick up the directions above from the *

 STALLINGBOROUGH Site – C/o CATCH, Kiln Lane, Stallingborough DN41 8TH

From Stallingborough

Head East on Station Road Towards Ayscough Avenue for 0.5 miles

Continue onto S Marsh Road for 0.8 miles

Slight left onto N Moss Lane 0.7m

At the Roundabout Take the First Left

The CATCH Facility is on the Right

SCUNTHORPE site – unit 3, Ram Boulevard, Foxhills Industrial Estate, Scunthorpe DN15 8QW

From Scunthorpe Centre

Head East on Cliff Gardens Towards Oswald Road

Take Frodingham Road / B1378, Normanby Road / B1430 and Phoenix Parkway / A1077 to Atkinson Way 1.8 miles

Continue on Atkinsons Way and Drive to Ram Boulevard for 0.3 miles

Turn Left on to Atkinson Way after 0.2 miles

Take the First Right Onto Ram Boulevard
