Description

The Apprenticeship in Business Administration is designed for those who wish to pursue a career in office administration, as well as develop their skills and knowledge in this area.

The aim of the qualification is to help learners gain and develop the skills necessary to provide a reliable service and deliver a high level of performance, which will ultimately aid career progression.

Business administration is a very broad area, and we generally have a wide range of employers who look to recruit office apprentices, including:

-Law firms
-Estate agents
-Accounts firms
-Primary and secondary schools
-Care homes/caring associations
-Engineering companies
-Charitable organisations
and many more.

What will you be learning?

The Level 2 Apprenticeship in Business Administration will take 12 months to complete, and will consist of:

Level 2 Diploma in Business Administration and Technical Certificate (Combined Qualification)

The Diploma will be delivered by trainng in centre and assessor visits to the workplace once every four weeks. After each visit, the learner will be left with an action plan to compelte before the next visitt. Assessments will be undertaken by a variety of means, including:

  • Observation
  • Professional Discussion
  • Witness Statements

Every other visit, or every eight weeks, the assessor will also conduct a review with the learner's supervisor to see how things are progressing.

The learner will also need to complete the following mandatory units:

  • Communication in a Business Environment
  • Principles of Providing Administrative Services
  • Principles of Business Document Production and Information Management
  • Understand Employer Organisations
  • Manage Personal Performance and Development
  • Develop Working Relationships with Colleagues

Functional Skills

These are only applicable if a learner has not achieved a grade C or above in Maths, English or ICT, or the equivalent qualification. Functional Skills will involve working towards an exam in the subject(s), together with the production of a portfolio.

All of these elements make up the framework of the overall qualification.

How is it delivered?

Training for the Business Administration Apprenticeship is undertaken in a flexible manner and is determined by the particular needs of the learner. Assessments will be undertaken on a regular basis, and any training that may be required will be delivered either in the workplace or at McArthur Dean Training.

Entry Requirements:

Due to the level of the qualification, we ideally prefer applicants who have at least a grade C in GCSE English, Maths and IT, or the equivalent qualification.

Progression:

The Business Administration Apprenticeship qualification is a nationally recognised qualification amongst employers.

Apprenticeships provide the learner with the opportunity to prove what they can do in real working environment and be accredited for it. This is extremely valid by employers as it proves you can actually put work in to practise, rather then just write about it.

We also offer the Business Administration Apprenticeship at Level 3 which the learner could potentially progress on to, providing that they complete the level 2 qualification to a satisfactory standard and subject to funding.
