About us

Aspire2work is a Study Programme centre for young people aged 16-18. We provide learning that will enable young people to progress to employment, traineeships, apprenticeships and further education. To do this we provide information, advice and guidance to enable young people to make informed choices about their career options. Individual programmes are then created to support each yooung person to succeed and progress.

The programmes are suitable for a variety of young people including those with who have not acheived their potential at school as it supports young people with their personal and social development. The programme is tailored to individual needs and progress is reviewed regularly.


  • What Makes Us Different

    Our aim is to provide a friendly training enivronment to help you move on into satisfying and rewarding jobs, apprenticeships or skills training. We are based right in the middle of the city but you'll also spend a lot of your time out of the centre at events, workshops and placements. Aspire2work gives you:

    • Learning right in the City Centre 
    • Training rooms with the latest SMART Boards
    • Learning that focusses on the skills employers say they want (see Hull's Employability Charter)
    • Trained advisors to help to plan your career or explore new options
    • Chances to try new skills and get new experiences
    • The essential Functional Skills qualifications in maths, English & ICT you need to move on
    • Recognised qualifications in Customer Service, Retail, and Logistics if these are your chosen areas 
    • A wide range of work related qualifications such as Food Hygiene and Health & Safety at Work
    • A wide range of work placements
    • A full IT training suite

    It's all about you! We can give you whatever support you need to help you succeed.If there is anything that you feel would make it easier for you to learn, let us know and we will help in whatever way is needed.

    Applying is really easy! You can apply through this site or, if you ring 01482 319769 we will be able to get you in for a chat within a couple of days. You can also contact the team leader on HullT4S@igengroup.co.uk Enrolments are held every Thursday at 9:30 am.

    We aim to provide learning activities that are tailored as much as possible to your personal aims and ambitions. If you aren't clear yet what you'd like to do we can help you explore all the possibilities.

  • Features

    The programme is six months long but you can leave at any time if you find a job or apprenticeship and you can stay longer with us if you feel it would be beneficial.

    Aspire2work is a flexible 24 hour programme. Most of our learners receive bursaries of between £10 and £40. Learners get free local 'megariders'.

How to find us

We are located in the City Centre very close to Debenham's. Walk along Prospect Street away from the town centre until you see some glass doors on the corner. That is Shirethorn House. (If you see a British Heart Foundation shop you've come a little too far!). We are on the first floor and there should be a Train 4 Success sign outside the door.

    Park in the city centre (loads of car parks) and look for the library.

  • By Bus

    Buses to Hull Interchange and very close to centre on Prospect Street and Albion Street.

  • By Rail

    To Hull station.
