Overview

The course is aimed at students who wish to further their experience, knowledge, understanding, creativity and ability in the arts.

Learning is through:

  • Teacher led activities and interactive teaching, designed to push students' abilities
  • Teacher set 'starting points' designed to stimulate a creative response
  • Researching artists to further understanding
  • Weekly independent learning to consolidate new concepts and consolidate coursework
  • Using past projects and exemplar work to understand how work will be assessed

Enrichment activities and independent learning

Students should use self-led exposure to cultural activities, venues and galleries to experience and observe artefacts first-hand.

You will have access to the art rooms and ICT technology resources to develop your skills.

The department is always available to help students if they have a specific request or interest that for whatever reason could not be addressed during normal lesson times.
