About us

The Consortium Sixth form Partnership between Wolfreton School and Sixth Form College, Cottingham High School and Hessle High School started over 25 years ago.  It has developed into a strong, vibrant and successful community for students to experience something we are extremely proud of.

We offer a range of courses including A Level subjects and a variety of vocational options.  This wide ranging curriculum provides flexibility to meet your individual needs.

With us you will experience new and different environments, providing the chance to make new friends.  You will also receive all the support needed to help you achieve your goals and you can also gain extra skills through our programme of enrichment and extra-curricular opportunities.

Choosing where to study after completing your GCSE's is an important decision.  Along with our open evenings, we hope that the information given on logonmoveon will begin to give you a flavour and insight into what we have to offer you in the sixth form.

If you have any questions or would like like more information regarding any aspect of our sixth form experience, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Student support

The change from school to sixth form is exciting but it is also very different.  We make sure that you are supported through this period and throughout your time with us.  We have highly qualified and experienced subject teachers who will support and guide you in your studies.  Your student services manager will help you settle in and will be a vital point of contact for advice and information.  Subject to meeting eligibility criteria, there is also financial support available through the 16-19 Bursary Fund.

What makes us different?

Choice - We offer over 30 course options and our combination possibilities mean that there is something for everyone.

Success - in 2018 our a Level pass rate was 99%, with 45% of students achieving A*-B grades and 18% A*-A grades,  A large proportion of our students successfully progress to university while others follow their career path through further education, employment and apprenticeships.

Enrichment - Having a great set of academic qualifications is a very small part of what makes a person shine.  we offer a variety of enrichment opportunities in addition to your regular studies.  These include emergency first aid, food safety, sign language and team leading qualifications.

Sport - A wide range of sport and recreational opportunities are available.  In addition to choosing to study the subject, you could take part in team activities, join a club or complete an accredited course in sports leadership or fitness training.  More information regarding what is on offer can be obtained from subject staff.

Community - Our sixth forms also have a great social community.  Each has a student council or committee and you will be encouraged to get involved with planning events for everyone to take part in.  Whether it is a themed charity fundraising day, a BBQ, or that all important final year prom, you can sure there is something for you!

Work Experience - We feel that it is important that our students should have experience of the workplace, so during the summer term all of our Year 12 students have the opportunity to take part in a week of work experience.  This is a fantastic opportunity to develop the soft skills that employers expect, such as Business and Customer Awareness, Communication and Literacy, Self-management, Application of Number, Problem Solving,  Teamwork and Application of Digital Technologies. Work experience is also an extremely useful addition to a CV or future applications for employment, apprenticeships or university.

Transport

The Consortium Sixth Form Partnership offers a free transport service that is available Monday to Friday during term time.

This dedicated service travels between each of our three sixth form  colleges in a morning, at lunch time and later every afternoon.  It also provides the opportunity to travel between home and sixth form using additional routes across the local area.

The service has a regular bus timetable providing you with an easy and straightforward commute to complete your studies.  Details can be found within the travel section on our Consortium Sixth Form Partnership website:  www.the-consortium.org
