Wolfreton School and Sixth Form College
The Consortium Sixth form Partnership between Wolfreton School and Sixth Form College, Cottingham High School and Hessle High School started over 25 years ago. It has developed into a strong, vibrant and successful community for students to experience something we are extremely proud of.
We offer a range of courses including A Level subjects and a variety of vocational options. This wide ranging curriculum provides flexibility to meet your individual needs.
With us you will experience new and different environments, providing the chance to make new friends. You will also receive all the support needed to help you achieve your goals and you can also gain extra skills through our programme of enrichment and extra-curricular opportunities.

The change from school to sixth form is exciting but it is also very different. We make sure that you are supported through this period and throughout your time with us. We have highly qualified and experienced subject teachers who will support and guide you in your studies. Your student services manager will help you settle in and will be a vital point of contact for advice and information. Subject to meeting eligibility criteria, there is also financial support available through the 16-19 Bursary Fund.
What makes us different?
Choice - We offer over 30 course options and our combination possibilities mean that there is something for everyone.
Success - in 2018 our a Level pass rate was 99%, with 45% of students achieving A*-B grades and 18% A*-A grades, A large proportion of our students successfully progress to university while others follow their career path through further education, employment and apprenticeships.
Enrichment - Having a great set of academic qualifications is a very small part of what makes a person shine. we offer a variety of enrichment opportunities in addition to your regular studies. These include emergency first aid, food safety, sign language and team leading qualifications.
Sport - A wide range of sport and recreational opportunities are available. In addition to choosing to study the subject, you could take part in team activities, join a club or complete an accredited course in sports leadership or fitness training. Community - Our sixth forms also have a great social community. Each has a student council or committee and you will be encouraged to get involved with planning events for everyone to take part in. Whether it is a themed charity fundraising day, a BBQ, or that all important final year prom, you can sure there is something for you!
Work Experience - We feel that it is important that our students should have experience of the workplace, so during the summer term all of our Year 12 students have the opportunity to take part in a week of work experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop the soft skills that employers expect, such as Business and Customer Awareness, Communication and Literacy, Self-management, Application of Number, Problem Solving, Teamwork and Application of Digital Technologies. Work experience is also an extremely useful addition to a CV or future applications for employment, apprenticeships or university.
The Consortium Sixth Form Partnership offers a free transport service that is available Monday to Friday during term time.
This dedicated service travels between each of our three sixth form colleges in a morning, at lunch time and later every afternoon. It also provides the opportunity to travel between home and sixth form using additional routes across the local area.

University - Many of our students progress to university once they have completed their studies. We will guide you through the whole UCAS process, from selecting the right university to completing and submitting your application.
We provide the opportunity to visit universities and to attend the UCAS Higher Education convention at the University of Hull. This exhibition hosts and showcases around 100 universities from across the country, giving you the chance to talk with representatives about the degree courses available to you. You can pick up course information and can also attend lectures covering a variety of topics including student finance, university life and tips on making your application.
Apprenticeships - Careers information, advice and guidance also feature highly. For those of you looking to gain employment or an apprenticeship, we provide a variety of resources to help and assist you. These include CV and letter writing workshops and specialist sessions regarding apprenticeship and career route options. Across the UK there are a growing number of degree apprenticeship opportunities available.
